Location: Thomas Halton Park, Eleebana

Map: Thomas Halton Park 1:4000, 2 metre contours.

Start times: First starts after dark (which should around 6:15pm). Last start 7:15pm

Course Closure: 7:45pm. (Finish after 7:45pm and you risk being disqualified for failing to finish the course in the allowed time.)

This closure time is to enable the setter to collect controls before it gets too late.  So please, please choose your start time so that you complete your chosen course by 7:45pm

Setter: Clare Williams

Course: Long (~5km) and Short (~2.5km). These are length via logical route choice around out of bounds areas. Competitors should choose a course that matches their ability and allows them to finish by course closure time.

Directions: IMPORTANT ~ The car park must be approached from the east, as Bareki Rd has a double white divider line at the car park entrance which should not be crossed.  If approaching from the west it is advised to overshoot the car-park and to instead turn right into the second car-park (appox. 1km along) and to turn around there to allow approach from the east.

Facilities:  Assume nothing (since the toilets will probably be locked by dark).

  • Remember to bring your own lights.
  • Bring insect repellent to protect from mosquitoes.
  • SI: this is a Sport Ident (SI) event, there is an SI unit attached to each control, so you will need to bring your SI stick or P-card. There are less than 20 controls on the short course, so people that only own a P-card will be able to use that if they run the short course. For the long course, they will need to hire or purchase an SI stick for this event.
