mtbo  Club members podium at the NSW MTBO Championships

 A small contingent of Newcastle orienteers headed up the coast on the   weekend of 2-3 September for the 2023 NSW Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships held in the Kempsey/Nambucca/Coffs Harbour area, with Andrew Power carnival controller and Malcolm Roberts setting the Middle distance.

Several club members made the podium in the Sprint, Middle and Long distance championship events.

In the Long distance, former World MTBO Champs team member Tim Doman finished in first place in M21. The Haighs also placed in their respective classes with Andrew second in M50 and Nicole third in W40. Sunday's Middle distance saw Tim Doman again winning in M21 and Andrew Haigh repeating his second in M50. The Haighs successfully backed up in the Sprint event on Sunday afternoon with both winning their classes in M50 & W40. Geoff Todkill also topped the podium in the Sprint with a first in M60.
