Welcome to Newcastle Orienteering Club

Orienteering is a competitive or non-competitive recreational activity in which participants use a detailed map, and usually a compass, to navigate between checkpoints on an unfamiliar course in bush terrain, parkland or urban areas.

If you like a physical and mental challenge while exploring the outdoors, orienteering is the sport for you!

Map: Cocked Hat Creek
Type: Night Cross country
Starts: 5:30-7:00 pm

Recent Queensland import Scott Simson has set a series of night courses around his new suburb of Cameron Park. Scott although new to our club has considerable experience in all aspects of our sport.

The event map is basically next door to Brush Creek where that afternoons MTBO event will take place so pack a torch and head over. I have told Scott we will get a good turn out so let's not disappoint him.
