NOY 3

From the Desk of the Setter:
There is something very exhilarating running through, flat open bush on a misty moisty morning don't you think? Well that is exactly what the doctor ordered for 68 competitors who ran the NOY 3 at Barnsley.
I remembered Dennis Lyons advice: "Make it fun!" Judging by the times and positive feedback, it was a lot of fun in a surprisingly great piece of bush so close to the burbs.
Thanks go to Angus for the genius 'big picture' leg plans on paper, "Dad send them down the hill on a straight line - they'll be tempted to drift" and for the ideas to make the best use of the runnable areas. "You can fill in the rest!" I must say I really enjoyed the "time in the bush" planning and setting the course.
Thanks to Rob Vincent for the vetting. Fine detail is not my best point so I was very grateful for your notes and advice. Big thanks to all the helpers on the day, setting up in the rain and packing up in the sun.
Steven Roberts!
