Directions:

From Newcastle/Sydney: Find your way onto Leggetts Drive, which runs south from Pelaw Main or from Freemans Drive (Cessnock exit from the M1) which becomes Leggetts Drive at Brunkerville Gap). At the intersection with Lake Road (roundabout) west of Mulbring, turn west onto Lake Road (signposted to Cessnock). Follow this for 7.3 km, then turn left onto Kearsley Road (signposted to Abernethy, NOT Kearsley Selections Road which is 200 m before). Follow this for 2.3 km through Abernethy (becomes Ferguson Street) until it becomes unsealed.

From Cessnock: Leave Cessnock via Aberdare Road, travelling through Aberdare and Kearsley (where it becomes Lake Road). On the outskirts of Kearsley and at the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Kearsley Road (signposted to Abernethy). Follow this for 2.3 km through Abernethy (as Ferguson Street) until it becomes unsealed.

Parking: Along East side of Ferguson Street

Terrain: Lower (mostly gentle) slopes of the Brokenback range cut by deeply incised gullies with intricate detail. Entering and leaving the gullies can be challenging in places. Some (mostly sparse) prickly vegetation will be encountered on the Moderate and Hard courses. There are many vehicle and bike tracks.

Entry Fees

Safety: North to main road or built-up area.

Start/Finish: There will be a remote start and finish, 500 m along a vehicle track from the assembly.

Start times: 9:30 to 11:30am with course closure at 1pm. Please ensure you start your course with enough time to complete it prior to course closure
