NSW State League
  Newcastle finishes on top again in State League

The 2024 NSW State League concluded on 22 September with the final (rescheduled) event at Kentlyn and saw Newcastle finish on top of the table in the NSW Interclub, as well as eleven club members topping their age class in the individual competition.

Newcastle finished with 1645 points in the Interclub Competition, well ahead of Western and Hills Orienteers on 1047 points, with Garingal Orienteers third on 940. Newcastle was the leading, or equal leading, club on the table for thirteen of the sixteen State League events where 5 points are awarded for an age class win, down to 1 point for fifth place. 

Eleven club members were NSW Orienteer of the Year age class winners. The pointscore counted competitors’ best nine results from this year’s sixteen State League events.

Lucy Jenkins (W10A), Presley Scouller-Evans (M12A), Erika Enderby (W20A), Justin Stafford (M40A), Jennifer Enderby (W55A), Glenn Burgess (M60A), Jim Lee (M75A) & Carolyn Chalmers (W80A) all finished first in their age classIn the short course classes Nathan Berkholz (M21AS), Naomi Scouller (W35AS) & Shane Jenkins (M45AS) finished on top.
