   Nbushewcastle results from the NSW Middle & Long Champs

  The weekend of 7/8 September saw around 220 orienteers compete in   the NSW Middle & Long Distance Championships at Clandulla State Forest, south of Kandos. The area, originally mapped for the 2009 World Masters Championships, featured complex sandstone rock and steep spur gully terrain providing both technical orienteering and a tough physical challenge. Newcastle had twenty three club members make the podium on one or both days, including fourteen firsts in the A classes.

Newcastle’s state champions in Saturday’s Middle Distance A classes were  Hayley Jenkins (W10A), Isobel Newton (W12A), Presley Scouller-Evans (M12A), Samantha Howe (W45A), Martina Craig (W50A), Jennifer Enderby (W55A) & Stephen Craig (M55A ).
Topping the A classes in Sunday’s Long Distance champs were Hayley Jenkins (W10A), Presley Scouller-Evans (M12A), Justin Stafford (M40A), Martina Craig (W50A), Jennifer Enderby (W55A), Stephen Craig (M55A) & Robert Vincent (M65A).
