Preparation for the Bush. Try out bush style orienteering in local parks before stepping out into the bush. Also includes a night event for the adventurous. (Feb-April)
Grab your mountain bike and ride around bush tracks in either a street style event, bush style event or a combination of the two. (Oct-Mar)

Assembly: Tom Lantry Park, Maize St, Tenambit.
Parking: Maize St or Houston Ave.  Please respect residents and other reserve users
Facilities: Playground, toilets, trees for shade.
Start times: Start at a time that suits you between 5:00pm - 6:30pm (with 2 minutes planning time before your start).
Course: 45 minute score course. Note: A mini-course (suitable for children) will also be available

A Note About Safety: Newcastle Orienteering recommends that all competitors wear bright clothing or reflective gear throughout the season to enable drivers to see you especially if you are running near dusk. Please also take care when crossing roads and use recommended crossing points on busy roads. We also wish to remind competitors that listening to an ipod (or similar) while on course can be a distraction that may cause you to not hear an emergency warning or similar and as such are not allowed during these events for your safety.
