Dear Members

A sub-committee of Newcastle Orienteering Club Inc has been working on revising our Club's Constitution to bring it into line with the requirements of the NSW Department of Fair Trading for Incorporated Associations.

Attached is a copy of the existing Constitution and a copy of the proposed revised Constitution for comparison purposes. The proposed revised Constitution is consistent with the model Constitution for Incorporated Associations as published on the website of the NSW Department of Fair Trading.

Some of the revisions made will necessitate some minor alterations in the way the club does its business, and these will be instituted once the proposed Constitution comes into force.

The proposed Constitution will be discussed as an agenda item in the general meeting of NOC Inc. to be held at Geoff & Margaret Peel's home at 15 Gregson Avenue, Mayfield West 2304 at 7.30pm on Thursday 10 May 2018.

The Special Resolution regarding the changes to the Constitution is this:
“That the Constitution of Newcastle Orienteering Club Incorporated, in the form presented to the General Meeting by the President of Newcastle Orienteering Club Incorporated, be adopted as the Constitution of Newcastle Orienteering Club Incorporated in substitution for and to the exclusion of the Newcastle Orienteering Club Incorporated's existing Constitution.”

For those members who are unable to attend the meeting, electronic voting will be available. Please register your interest for electronic voting by return email to Andrew Power, Club President, upon which advice on how to vote electronically will be forwarded.
