From the setter:
The Wallaroo curse strikes again! Steady rain greeted the setter during final preparations and lasted until about half way through the event. This added a few challenges for competitors with slippery conditions and fogging glasses (and made the track in a little precarious). Feedback from runners was positive with people enjoying the open running and lack of serious hills. Thanks to Bjorn Mella for vetting and organising the event and thanks to all those who helped with set up, pack up, control collection and the various other jobs that need to be done, it was like a well oiled (or at least wet) machine.
New - Activites for Kids: Bjorn Mella will be running a training/activity group for our younger orienteers at this event (around 11-12 years old - but i would assume younger would be welcome). THe format is as yet not finalised but the kids should expect some techincal training/games and fun!
Directions: Assembly will be in the quarry. Travel north of Heatherbrae on the Pacific Highway approximately 13.5 km then turn left onto Italia road. Turn right after 3.5 km and follow the dirt track for 600 m to the assembly area. The track is a bit rough but OK for 2 wheel drives.
