Welcome to Newcastle Orienteering Club

Orienteering is a competitive or non-competitive recreational activity in which participants use a detailed map (and usually a compass) to navigate between checkpoints (known as “controls”) along an unfamiliar course. If you like a mental and physical challenge and exploring the outdoors, orienteering is the sport for you!

BOSS Event 5 - St Ives

BOSS Event 5 took place today at St Ives in North Sydney. Unfortunatley due to a double booking of the Show Ground the first control of the line course had to be abandoned. All competitors where offered a restart with Control 2 becoming the first control. 8 Competitors had already passed through Control 1 before the problem was addressed. I have attemped to modify the results to give back the time lost to these competitors and award them the points they may have otherwise attained. Obviously this is not an exact science.
