Directions: From Paxton (10km south-west from Cessnock), travel south on the Congewai Road for approximately 10km to the event site. The section past the Congewai Public School is a narrow dirt road; take care.
Notice: This event is being staged in the Watagan National Park. National Parks' risk management policy requires us to inform you that the event area is steep with trip hazards and with the possibility of encountering leeches and ticks.
Start times: 9.30-11.30am
Map: John Elm Creek 1:10 000, revised 2014, with an eastern extension. The area is undulating to steep spur gully with extensive sandstone rock features in some sections. Large (usually > 2.5m) and small boulders (usually 1.5-2.5m), high points (brown dot symbol) which represents an extended raised area of rock up to 1 metre above the surrounding ground, along with termite mounds (brown triangle) are shown.
Courses: Hard long 6.1km, hard medium 4.2km, hard short 2.8km, medium long 3.8km, medium short 2.8km, easy 2.2km, very easy 1.5km
Important: The start is a 300m walk from the assembly area; allow 5 minutes. There are streamered legs on the easy and both moderate courses. Please use the marked fence crossing points and don’t cross fences elsewhere. This event uses Sportident, which will be available to hire on the day.
