Welcome to Newcastle Orienteering Club

Orienteering is a competitive or non-competitive recreational activity in which participants use a detailed map (and usually a compass) to navigate between checkpoints (known as “controls”) along an unfamiliar course. If you like a mental and physical challenge and exploring the outdoors, orienteering is the sport for you!

    Run or walk, compete against yourself or others, or a fun family day out. Classic "forest" orienteering for all in the great outdoors. (Mar-Sept)
   Run, walk or push a pram to a 45 minute time limit. How many points can you get? (Oct-Feb)
    A great introduction to orienteering with fun courses in suburban parks & reserves. Also includes a night event. (Feb-Mar)
    Navigate around bush tracks and trails on your mountain bike. The     BOSS series offers 75 minute score & line+score events. (Oct-Mar)

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.or catch her at an event. We are trying to get a table together to represent the club and car pool if required. Please be aware that this does not book you a place for the dinner only your intent to go. Details on how to book for the dinner will be available shortly.

There will be a score event before dinner (There will be showers for those who wish to freshen up before the formal proceedings)

Location: Castle Hill Showground, Castle Hill, NSW

Venue: George Bell Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground, Castle Hill. Enter via Doran Drive.

Format: 4.30pm Team score event; 6pm Junior Awards; 6.30pm Dinner; 7pm Senior Awards. As this is a catered event bookings are required by Tuesday 6th Nov.

Note:Anyone who would like to stay on site overnight in their campervan (or tent!) can do so for a small fee (about $20)
